Brian returns for his 2nd year to the Mt. Si High School baseball program after spending 2011 at Skyline High School in Sammamish as a pitching advisor to the entire program.  At Mt. Si., Coach Mitchell serves as a roving pitching coach to the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman teams.
He is the assistant/pitching coach for the SBA Wildcats 13u select team with Mt. Si. Head coach Zach Habben.  Last summer, Coach Mitchell was the pitching coach for Michael’s Toyota 17u, a summer select team.  He currently serves as the Director of Baseball Operations at the Sammamish Baseball Academy (SBA) in Redmond where he privately instructs pitchers at all levels.  Brian also served as the pitching coordinator for two other summer select teams, the SBA 16u Steelheads and the SBA 13U Steelheads.
Prior to playing two years of semi-pro ball in the Western International League, Coach Mitchell pitched for the #3-ranked Brigham Young University Cougars.  He was a member of the 1981 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Northern Division Title team and the 1981 WAC Champions that went on to participate in the NCAA Division I, Western Regional in Austin, Texas.  Unfortunately, his collegiate career ended during his junior year due to an arm injury.
Coach Mitchell was a three-sport letterman at Woodway High School, in Edmonds, WA, earning All-Wesco honors in both football and baseball.   He was undefeated his senior year and was awarded the MVP of the 1979 Washington State 3A Championship game after throwing a no-hitter against Lakes of Tacoma, which at that time, lead the state with a .380-team batting average.  Aside from other collegiate baseball offers, Brian was recruited by the University of Washington to join their nationally ranked crew program.
He is married to Colleen, a senior vice president at Colbalt Mortgage.  His four children include Tyler, a University of Southern Florida finance graduate, Mackenzie, a BYU-Idaho dance graduate, Cole, a sophomore at Polk College in Florida, and daughter Alexandra, a sophomore at Skyline High School.  Brian previously served as a ski instructor for the OUTDOORFORALL racing program, as a former Scoutmaster of Troop 558 and as the Architectural Control Committee Chairman for the Klahanie Association.

Rick is a lawyer by trade but a baseball player by avocation.  He has played baseball or softball since 1956, including since 1995 as an outfielder in the Puget Sound Senior Baseball League.  He played shortstop and first base at a small high school, but has mostly played outfield since.  His first coaching experience was at 16, when he was asked to coach 12-13 year olds for summer ball when no parent stepped up.  He coached youth ball for ten years in Redmond West Little League, including Pony League and Babe Ruth League.  He is a graduate of Barry High School, Barry, IL, the University of Illinois, and Seattle University Law School, where he was a founding member of the Law Review.  Rick has lived in the valley since 2001 and currently resides in North Bend.
